About Life Beyond Homeschool
Most homeschool parents are doing a good job. We plan lessons. We choose the curriculum. We make sure the work gets done.
But at some point, many of us pause and wonder:
Is all of this actually preparing my child for life? Or are we just getting through school?
The Shift
I began to see something clearly.
It’s possible to be diligent about academics…and still feel unsure about direction.
Our children can complete assignments, earn good grades, and stay on track, but still not fully understand:
Who they are
How God has wired them
Or what they’re being prepared to do
And that’s where many families start to feel the tension.
Why Life Beyond Homeschool Exists
Life Beyond Homeschool was created to help parents step back and educate with the end in mind.
Not just asking:
“What do we need to cover this year?”
But instead:
“Who is my child becoming, and how is their education supporting that?”
Because homeschool gives us something powerful: The opportunity to shape more than academics.
To nurture:
Identity
Discovery
Direction
over time.
A Simple Framework
That’s why I created a simple, three-stage framework:
Created (Ages 2–7)
Helping children understand who they are in God’s world
Called (Ages 8–12)
Helping them recognize how God has uniquely wired them
Confident (Ages 13–18)
Helping them test that calling and prepare for what comes next
This isn’t about replacing your academic curriculum. It’s about supporting the heart and purpose behind it.
My Role
I’m not here to overhaul your homeschool. I’m here to help you:
See your child more clearly
Guide them more intentionally
And connect their education to their life assignment
A Simple Reminder
You don’t have to do everything perfectly. You just need to begin asking better questions.
Because in the end…
School assignments matter. But your child’s life assignment matters more.
Hi, I’m Tia Marie! The Founder of Life Beyond Homeschool.
I’m a homeschool mom and curriculum creator who is passionate about helping parents educate with the end in mind, so their children don’t just complete school, but grow in clarity about who they are and how God has uniquely wired them.
After years of homeschooling and guiding my own children, I saw how easy it is to stay focused on academics while feeling unsure about their life direction. That’s what led me to create the Created, Called, and Confident framework and curriculum.
Today, as I homeschool my children, this work is more than theory; it’s something I’m actively living out alongside other families.
My heart is to walk alongside parents as they begin to think differently about their homeschool, so they can not only teach their children, but also intentionally prepare them for the life God is calling them to live.
If this resonates with you, you’re not alone, and I’d love to walk this journey with you.

Some Fun Facts
Why I started homeschooling.

I pulled my daughter out of public school in the 3rd grade. She was being bullied at school and begged me to homeschool. So, I quit my job and started homeschooling my kids full-time. Back then, I had a junior in high school and a third grader. That was almost 15 years ago. Today, both kids have graduated, and we’ve added two more kiddos to our family.

I am a classical educator at heart. I always thought classical education would be difficult, stoic, and philosophical. But nothing could be further from the truth. With all the curricula I tried, it was classical education that allowed my kids to love learning. They learned how to develop and cultivate their skills, communicate what they learned, and share their knowledge and understanding with others. We feel blessed to be part of the classical community.
The toughest homeschool challenge I had to overcome.

I was trying to homeschool my high schooler and preschoolers at the same time. My teen was frustrated and felt like she was not getting the attention she needed. I had to be very strategic and organized with my time by creating a specific schedule just for my high schooler. We would meet early in the morning to complete the more complex courses before my younger homeschoolers woke up. This gave me uninterrupted time to focus solely on my teen. It worked!

When people put their toilet paper under the roll, it’s obvious that it should be over it. It is so difficult to grab when it’s under 😆
